As part of your puppy’s training, then, you should do everything you can to ensure that your puppy can’t get into trouble in the first place. That way you can avoid giving your puppy lots of ‘negative’ attention which might inadvertently encourage his bad behaviour. For example, if you use a crate, or confine your puppy to one room of the house, he is far less likely to get into trouble chewing something he shouldn’t, or peeing somewhere he shouldn’t.
I've heard that there are a few devices out there where the menus at the top of the page just don't work (pull-downs), so I'm including here links to the Hidden menu items: eShop | Obedience Members Forum | Rally Members Forum | Congrats/Good Luck Forum | Latest Obedience News | Latest Rally News | Spotlight | Latest Ticket Information | General Obedience Training | General Rally Training | Judges Training | Crufts Overview | Obedience Class Finals | Scoresheets | Crufts 2019 | Crufts 2018 | Crufts 2017 | Crufts 2016 | Crufts 2015 | Crufts 2014 | Crufts 2013 | Crufts 2012 | Crufts 2011 | Crufts 2010 | Crufts 2009 | Crufts 2008 | Crufts 2007 | Crufts 2006 | Crufts 2005 | Crufts 2004 | Crufts 2003 | Crufts 2002 | Crufts 2001 | Crufts 2000 | New Show Reports | ALL Show Reports | New Rally Show Reports | ALL Rally Show Reports | Rally Show Results | Useful Information | G Regulations | Links | Obedience Council | Rainbow Bridge | Rememberance Wall | Topics Page | Won Out | Out&About Obedience Shows | Out&About Rally Shows
"'Tis lost," returned the Pilot, hastily--"'tis sacrificed to moreprivate feelings; 'tis like a hundred others, ended in disappointment, and is forgotten, sir, forever. But the interests of the Republics mustnot be neglected, Mr. Griffith.--Though we are not madly to endangerthe lives of those gallant fellows, to gain a love-smile from one youngbeauty, neither are we to forget the advantages they may have obtainedfor us, in order to procure one of approbation from another. ThisColonel Howard will answer well in a bargain with the minions of theCrown, and may purchase the freedom of some worthy patriot who isdeserving of his liberty. Nay, nay, suppress that haughty look, and turnthat proud eye on any, rather than me; he goes to the frigate, sir, andthat immediately."
This past Saturday night, I was in tears because I am having so much difficulty in training my puppy. I thought I had found the answer with this website, I was so happy! The back of my mind told me something was off, but I was running on a mixture of very little sleep and desperation. As soon as I ordered, I thought, I better put this name into Google to see if it is legit. I can't say I was surprised when I found this page, and quickly went to my credit card to dispute the charges (I was not sent any dog training info from the "business", such as it is. Anyway, I was able to dispute the charge with my credit card today, and they reversed the charge. It's sad that this is the world we live in today, so many scammers out to make a quick and dirty buck. I also filed a report with the FBI, hopefully these jerks will get shut down.
Seeking professional help doesn't mean ditching your DIY training program. You can find a professional dog trainer who offers private training sessions, and some trainers even offer online sessions. Many dog owners prefer to join a local dog obedience class so they will be under the supervision of a dog training instructor without the higher cost of private sessions. Plus, classes challenge your dog to learn around the distractions of other dogs.
In competition, merely sitting, lying down, or walking on a leash are insufficient. The dog and handler must perform the activities off leash and in a highly stylized and carefully defined manner. For example, on a recall, the dog must come directly to the handler, without sniffing or veering to one side, and must sit straight in front of the handler, not at an angle or off to one side or the other. Training for obedience competitions builds on basic obedience training.
Dogs that demonstrate the previously mentioned basic skills, as well as walking reasonably well on a leash and a few other minor tasks, can be tested for and earn the American Kennel Club's (AKC) Canine Good Citizen certification. While not a competitive obedience title, a CGC certification demonstrates that the dog is sociable, well behaved, and reliable in public settings.[1] Some insurance companies will waive breed restrictions on dogs with CGCs, and many states have passed resolutions supporting and encouraging CGC certification as a yardstick for canine manners and responsible dog ownership.
So I read this companies response back to me and it asks me to send them some info so I find my original info for the purchase to prove I bought the training stuff and copied and pasted the email she gave me so there would be no mistake... AND IT BOUNCED BACK AT ME IMMEDIATELY!! Really??? You gave me an email that doesn't work? And this is suppose to assure me that you are a reputable company and that you are going to fix the problem and give me the link so I can use the product I bought??? Seriously???
"Sir, you repay my slight services with too much gratitude. If MissKatherine Plowden has not become under my guardianship all that her goodfather, Captain John Plowden, of the Royal Navy, could have wished adaughter of his to be, the fault, unquestionably, is to be attributed tomy inability to instruct, and to no inherent quality in the young ladyherself. I will not say, Take her, sir, since you have her in yourpossession already, and it would be out of my power to alter thearrangement; therefore, I can only wish that you may find her as dutifulas a wife as she has been, hitherto, as a ward and a subject."

You may also notice common behavior problems in your dog such as jumping up, barking, or even aggression. The best way to correct any misbehavior is to interrupt it. Shift your dog's attention to something positive. Try running through cues that your dog has mastered followed by rewards. Keep your demeanor cool and confident, and be clear about what you mean.
New to dog training? This is what you're looking for! A step by step guide on teaching your dog all of the basics. The videos are arranged IN ORDER. These are my current best versions of teaching these essential skills to your dog. There are tons of examples with LOTS of different dogs! None of the puppies or dogs were trained on the topic prior to the video they were featured in I've also included 5 different leash walking videos with 5 very different dogs who behave differently when taking a walk.
Success is usually attained in small steps. Training sessions with your dog should last 10 to 15 minutes, two to three times per day. This is especially true for puppies because of their very short attention spans. Longer sessions can cause an adult dog to become bored. Start by teaching basic commands. Try to stick with one action per training session so your dog does not get confused.

Every dog needs to learn to walk on a leash. Besides the fact that most areas have leash laws, there will be times when keeping your dog on a leash is for his own safety. Learn how to introduce your dog or puppy to the leash, then teach him how to walk properly on the leash. A loose leash walk teaches your dog not to pull or lunge when on the leash, making the experience more enjoyable for both you and your dog.
